WHAT TYPES OF FLIGHTS DOES SHELDON AIR SERVICE OFFER?

What kind of air service do you need?

We offer three standard flightseeing trips; the Mountain House tour is 1 hour and costs $195.00, the Base Camp Tour is 1 hour 20 minutes and costs $240.00 and the Denali Grand Tour is 1.5 hours and costs $285.00.  A glacier landing is a highly recommended option for any of these trips at the cost of $75.00 per person.

We also provide transportation for mountain climbers to various glacier landing areas as well as other remote locations.

We offer experienced support for any kind of film or video production requiring spectacular Alaskan location imagery.  We have worked with some of the best in the business and can provide air-to-air, air-to-ground and remote location shoot support.  We can get your cameras and crew to the most challenging locations safely and efficiently.  We work with experienced location scouts to pinpoint the locale that will best serve your script and budget. 

We provide Iditarod Race Following annually during March.  We have personally given passengers the experience of flying the Iditarod to Nome for 14 years.  We can carry a camera crew or an exclusive corporate charter to the best places to see the race.  We have accommodated the media as well as private individuals on the Trail since 1988. Sheldon Air Service also provides cargo service to cabins and remote properties throughout Southcentral Alaska.

WHAT FLIGHTSEEING TRIP WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?

If the weather is clear we recommend the Denali Grand Tour with a glacier landing.  This flight brings you all the way around Mt. McKinley and throughout the Alaska Range for a trip of a lifetime.

WHAT TIME OF DAY DO YOU FLY?

We fly from 8 am until 10 pm on a first come first served basis.  We recommend you make a reservation in advance for the day you want to fly, so you are assured a seat on our mountain airplanes during the summer.

HOW DO WE GET TO TALKEETNA FROM ANCHORAGE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT?

You have two options. 

You can rent a car and drive to Talkeetna or you can make arrangements for a van shuttle service to bring you to Talkeetna for approximately $85.00 one way.

You should bring a light jacket, sunglasses and your camera.
